SportCopter Vortex for sale with 83 hours on the Hobbs meter (tach time) for $17,000. The gyro was completed at the end of 2010. It has been flown mainly around the pattern and has had a very easy life. It has been hangared its complete life so the rotor blades, tires, etc are all in excellent shape. Since I purchased the plane last November we have done some work on the frame and replaced the engine. The tail boom had a slight bend in it, likely from a hard tail landing, so we replaced that. The motor has also been replaced as the original Rotax 614 lost a main seal and I have replaced it with a Rotax 582 that was on a friend's trike. The 582 has ~100 hours on it and starts and runs great. The Vortex flies very well although to be honest it has only had 6 hours on it since I purchased it. I bought the Vortex before I had a license and as I have progressed I have decided I am going to buy a tandem Magni gyro. The SportCopter flies very different from the Magni I have trained in. The Magni is much more stable while the SportCopter is more nimble. As such I have not actually flown it and I have decided to sell it rather than invest in more transition training. My instructor has flown it and will be happy to demonstrate it to any potential buyer.
Also available is a custom built trailer to transport the Vortex. The trailer has excellent tires and gyro rides very well behind a vehicle. You do need to remove the rotor blades before travel and there is a custom wood box to transport those along with the gyro.
